1. Scope

We (Barklin Design Kft.) process your order in accordance with our General Terms and Conditions valid at the time of your order. The current version is available on our website www.thebarklin.com under the “General Terms and Conditions” section. You can download, save, or print them there. Our General Terms and Conditions apply exclusively to the entire business relationship.

English is the language of negotiations and contracts. The following terms also apply exclusively to all international transactions.

You can print or save these Terms and Conditions.

Your contract and order data, as well as the contract text, are stored by us; direct access is not possible for security reasons. However, you can log in via “My User Account” to view or edit your profile, addresses, order history, and wish list. Your access data is for your use only and must not be shared.

Before you click “Buy now”, you can identify and correct input errors by selecting “Change details”.

2. Registration of User Account

Registration is only permitted for natural persons, partnerships, and legal entities with full legal capacity. Minors cannot register. Registration of a legal entity may only be completed by an authorized natural person, who must be named.

All registration information must be true, accurate, current, and complete. If registration is incomplete or inaccurate, Barklin may reject, revoke, or delete the account after a reasonable period.

Any disruption of our website or use of your account beyond these Terms is prohibited. Manipulation that may cause damage, impair availability, or obtain unauthorized advantages is prohibited and will be pursued under civil and criminal law.

If there is a violation or concrete suspicion of a violation creating a risk of damage, Barklin may block the account immediately.

Barklin is not obligated to accept your registration or order, nor to keep the website, accounts, or shop permanently available. Confirmed contracts remain unaffected.

You can delete your account at any time via customer service. See our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, linked on www.thebarklin.com.

3. Conclusion of Contract

Our offers are subject to change and non-binding. The presentation on our website does not constitute a legally binding offer. When ordering in the e-shop, you submit a binding offer by clicking “Buy now”.

We may accept your offer within five calendar days by sending a contract confirmation (mail or email) or by executing the order. If we do not accept within five days, the offer is deemed rejected. No contract is concluded for products not listed in the order confirmation.

4. Purchase and Delivery Conditions

Orders are only accepted from legally competent customers (minimum age: 18 years).

Barklin will confirm receipt electronically (on screen and via email). This confirmation does not constitute acceptance.

A contract is concluded upon express acceptance (order confirmation email) or by delivery. If no acceptance or delivery occurs within two weeks, the customer is no longer bound by the order.

Barklin may refuse to conclude a contract in cases of obvious errors, suspected misuse, or previous non-compliance by the customer.

Goods are sold only in household quantities. Minor deviations in color, design, or form are permissible if quality and value are not affected.

Accepted payment methods are shown during checkout (credit/debit card, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Shop Pay, Klarna).

Barklin reserves the right to take legal action in case of fraudulent orders.

5. Statutory Right of Withdrawal

Consumers have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal under §§ 312g, 355 BGB. Details, consequences, exclusions, and the model withdrawal form are provided in our Returns & Refunds Policy, which forms an integral part of these Terms.

6. Exclusions

The right of withdrawal does not apply to goods made to customer specifications or clearly personalized; unsealed goods not suitable for return for hygiene reasons (e.g. engraved tags, opened treats, used collars or leashes); perishable goods or those past expiry; digital content already accessed; or discounted final sale items where indicated.

7. Shipping and Delivery

Shipping costs depend on delivery method, weight, and destination, as shown at checkout. Flat-rate fees and thresholds are set out in the Shipping & Payment Policy. Free shipping is available to Companions Collective members for orders above €79.

Barklin may adjust shipping costs or thresholds. Changes are communicated before order completion.

All products are made to order. Crafting begins after order confirmation. Crafting and quality check usually take 3–5 business days (peak periods may add 1–2 days). Dispatch is usually within 2 business days after QC. Total lead time is typically 7–14 business days from order confirmation (crafting + transit).

Deliveries are made within the EU by DHL, DPD, or equivalent carriers. Zone-based transit times are set out in the Shipping & Payment Policy.

Orders generally ship in one parcel once all items are ready. Split shipments can be requested before dispatch for an additional fee.

Delivery is subject to availability. Claims for damages due to delayed or failed delivery are excluded in cases of minor negligence.

8. Prices and Payments

All prices are in EUR, including statutory VAT.

Payment is due immediately upon order, including for partial deliveries. Payments must be made exclusively to Barklin Design Kft. without deductions. Payment is considered made when Barklin has free access to the amount.

We accept payments in advance via credit card, PayPal, Google Pay, Apple Pay, and Klarna. To process payments we use a secure connection to our providers, primarily Shopify Payments.

PayPal: You pay via PayPal. Log in and confirm the instruction (guest checkout may be available). Goods ship after we receive the amount.

Credit card: Your card is charged immediately after checkout. Payment processing and verification are handled by the processor.

Klarna: We offer direct debit and purchase on account through Klarna. We transmit contact and order data to Klarna to assess eligibility. Processing follows Klarna’s privacy policy.

Apple Pay: Processing via Shopify Payments. Available on Apple devices.

Google Pay: Processing via Shopify Payments. Available on supported devices and browsers linked to your Google account.

Discounts: Codes cannot be applied retrospectively and do not apply to already reduced items.

9. Retention of Title

The delivered goods remain our property until full payment is received. If you default on payment of the purchase price, we have the right to withdraw from the purchase contract and demand that you return any unpaid goods. You are obligated to treat the unpaid goods with care.

10. Default, Set-Off, Retention

Default interest may be charged at statutory rates. Customers may only offset undisputed or legally established claims. Retention rights apply only if arising from the same contract.

11. Guarantee & Warranty

Statutory warranty rights apply. The legal warranty period for consumers is two years from delivery.

If an item has defects, you may request repair or replacement. If that is impossible or fails, you may demand a price reduction or withdraw from the contract.

For defects appearing within twelve months of delivery, it is presumed that the defect existed at delivery, unless proven otherwise.

This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear; minor deviations typical of artisanal, made-to-order production; damage from improper use, lack of care, or failure to follow care instructions; or cases where washing or care instructions on product labels are not followed, products are modified, or care materials discouraged by Barklin are used or do not meet at least average quality standards. In such cases the warranty is void.

Independent guarantees only apply if expressly stated.

12. Liability

Barklin is liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence and for injury to life, body, or health.

In cases of slight negligence, Barklin is liable only for breaches of essential contractual obligations (cardinal duties), limited to foreseeable, typical damages.

Liability under the Product Liability Act and for expressly given guarantees remains unaffected.

13. Intellectual Property

All content (texts, graphics, logos) is protected. Use beyond personal, non-commercial purposes requires Barklin’s written consent.

14. Data Protection

Data processing follows GDPR and our Privacy Policy and Data Processing Agreement (DPA). Barklin may adapt payment methods based on credit checks. Personal data is processed confidentially and securely. Newsletter sign-up requires GDPR-compliant double opt-in.

15. Loyalty Program (Companions Collective)

Participation is free and independent of purchases. Membership includes enrollment in the Barklin Newsletter. Benefits include free shipping above €79, early access to drops, and Wardrobe Points (10 points = €1; validity 12 months). Membership ends automatically if newsletter consent is revoked. 16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

Hungarian law applies, excluding CISG. The courts of Hungary have exclusive jurisdiction. Mandatory consumer protection rights of the customer’s country of residence remain unaffected.

17. Dispute Resolution

The EU Commission provides an online dispute resolution platform: https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. Barklin is not obliged nor willing to participate in consumer arbitration procedures.

19. Accessibility Statement

Barklin Design Kft. is committed to ensuring that our website and online services are accessible to all users, including persons with disabilities. We strive to comply with the EU Web Accessibility Directive (EU 2016/2102) and the WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards.

Measures taken:

• Alternative text for images.
• High contrast ratios and resizable text.
• Keyboard navigation and visible focus indicators.
• Clear headings, labels, and consistent navigation.
• Compatibility with assistive technologies (e.g. screen readers, ARIA roles).

Audit and improvements: We conduct regular accessibility audits and will carry out a full WCAG 2.1 AA compliance review starting in 2026, with annual reviews thereafter.
